Specialism : Builder’s Works
Major Duties :
(a) To inspect and supervise contractors in new building projects, repair and maintenance, major and minor alterations and addition works, and building and facilities management;
(b) To supervise works performed by direct labourers and report on the works progress and performance;
(c) To assist in the formulation of maintenance schedules and programmes for building maintenance and various trades of building services installation, preparation and compilation of tenders and annual budget relating to the maintenance, alterations and addition works and building management;
(d) To undertake investigations of building management / systems / facilities and make recommendations for improvement;
(e) To prepare sketches, layouts and cost estimates for maintenance, alterations and addition works and coordinate with other disciplines;
(f) To arrange and conduct specific investigation and surveys into environmental measures;
(g) To check and verify on-site materials and its proper deployment;
(h) To monitor on-site safety regulations being properly observed; and
(i) To liaise and collaborate with counterparts in the Council, consultants, public officers, contractors and utility companies on matters relating to the execution or scheduling of works.
Requirements :
(a) A recognised higher diploma in architectural studies, building studies, building surveying, civil and structural engineering, or equivalent; preferably with a recognised degree in relevant field;
(b) At least 5 years’ relevant experience in supervision of building contractors;
(c) Preferably with work experience in handling term maintenance contracts;
(d) Solid knowledge in builder’s works and preferably in other disciplines related to construction industry;
(e) Proficiency in English and Chinese; and
(f) Good supervisory, interpersonal and communication skills.
Note :
Appointees may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and in designated places as assigned.
