Job Purpose

As a Claims Officer, you will handle all marine hull, machinery, liability, and cargo claims of the company. You will serve as the key point of contact between operations, commercial teams, underwriters, P&I Clubs, and cargo interests, ensuring claims are settled efficiently and in the best interest of the company.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end handling of marine cargo losses, damages, shortages, and theft claims. Evaluate liability, interpret policy terms, and negotiate settlements with cargo owners, insurers, and freight forwarders.

• Renewal of insurance policies

• Liaise directly with insurance brokers/companies and underwriters and cargo insurers.

• Maintain claims registers and records.

• Provide internal guidance to commercial and logistics teams regarding liability clauses, standard operating procedures, and risk exposure in contracts/bills of lading.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 3–5 years of direct experience handling cargo and/or marine liability claims.

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline.

• Strong communication skills to help staff to adapt to new workflow

• Good written and spoken English and Chinese

• Ability to work independently

• Attentive to detail

• Team player, reliable, confident, energetic and tolerant to stress
