Job Description
(a) To support the relevant Assessment Panel in working out the assessment criteria and excellence indicators and to undertake research as may be required by the Assessment Panel of The Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence (CEATE); (b) To liaise with schools, nominees and/or nominators on matters relating to the assessment of nominations; (c) To support the relevant Assessment Panel in preparing and conducting the initial assessment of all nominations received such as examining nomination documents, conducting interviews, taking notes, compiling reports, etc.; (d) To support the relevant Assessment Panel in preparing and conducting detailed assessment of the short-listed nominations, such as scheduling the school visits, conducting class observations and stakeholders interviews, taking notes, compiling reports, etc.; (e) To provide professional inputs on the respective theme for the publication of the CEATE Compendium, the preparation of the sharing session of the Award Presentation Ceremony, the production of publicity videos, the information to be uploaded to the awarded teaching practices repository in CEATE website, etc.; (f) To compile a comprehensive report on the assessment work; (g) To provide professional support for dissemination activities of CEATE awardees; and (h) To assist in the related professional and administrative duties.
Requirements
(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree, or equivalent [see Note (i)]; (b) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent; (c) With post-degree full-time teaching experience in local kindergarten, primary or secondary schools (including special schools) offering curriculum developed by the Curriculum Development Council; (d) At least 10 years' post-degree teaching experience/school inspection/curriculum development experience [see Note (ii)]; and (e) With experience in the following fields in the recent 5 years preferred: - Chinese Language Education Key Learning Area (KLA) in local primary or secondary schools (including special schools); or - Mathematics Education KLA in local primary or secondary schools (including special schools); or - Designing/implementing/assessing innovative teaching practices or values education for local kindergartens, primary or secondary schools (including special schools).? Note: (i) Candidates should mark clearly on their application forms the major and minor subjects studied in their degree course. Candidates possessing additional qualifications (e.g. a second/higher degree in a relevant subject) should include details in their applications; and (ii) Candidates with the relevant experience should list the details and nature of the experience on the application form.
Terms of Appointment: Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for 1 year.
Remuneration
$78,550 per month
Fringe Benefits (a) 14 days annual leave and full pay sickness allowance whereas rest days, statutory holidays(or substituted holidays), maternity leave/paternity leave, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance. (b) A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.

Mail items bearing insufficient postage will not be delivered to this Bureau and will be returned to the sender or disposed of by the Hongkong Post, where appropriate. Applicants will bear any consequences arising from paying insufficient postage.
