Project Officer I (Life-wide Learning and Mainland Exchange 2) (EDB/QAD/229/25)
Job Description
(a) To plan, organise, monitor and evaluate the Mainland Exchange Programmes (MEPs)/ activities; (b) To develop the learning and teaching as well as promotion materials for the MEPs/ activities, to work co-operatively with other team members to produce reference material for the learning of various topics in MEPs and to provide school-based support to schools; (c) To assist in the administration and management of the Section, including procurement exercise, contract management and other administrative duties; and (d) To assist in ad hoc duties as assigned by supervisors including but not limited to answering public enquiries, drafting replies and supporting data to the Special Meetings of the Finance Committee Questions (SFCQs).
Requirements
(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree in Chinese Language, English Language, Humanities disciplines, Liberal Studies, Science, Technology, General Studies, Social Science or Statistics, or equivalent [see Note (ii)]; (b) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent; (c) Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [see Note (iii)]; (d) At least 7 years' relevant post-degree experience in teaching in secondary or primary school / curriculum development / organising Mainland Exchange Programmes (MEPs) for Hong Kong students / youth service [see Note (v)]; (e) Familiar with Chinese and English input methods and computer applications, such as word-processing, spreadsheet and multimedia presentation, etc; (f) Proficient in spoken Putonghua preferred; (g) Competence in Adobe Creative Suite (such as Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design, Dreamweaver and After Effects) preferred; and (h) Experience in out-of-classroom learning, knowledge management, conducting training / events, or conducting large-scale education research and presenting the research findings and reports preferred.? Note: (i) For general awareness, a locally-accredited Hong Kong bachelor's degree is at Level 5 under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (HKQF). While there are other qualifications under HKQF Level 5, for the purpose of this recruitment exercise, only bachelor's degree in the relevant subjects is acceptable. (ii) Candidates should mark clearly on their application forms the major and minor subjects studied in their degree courses. Candidates possessing additional qualifications (e.g. a Master / PhD degree) should include details in their applications. (iii) For appointment purpose, 'Grade C' and 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 3' and 'Level 2' respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth. (iv) Candidates should state the nature and relevancy of the experience.
Terms of Appointment: Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for 1 year.
Remuneration
$73,940 per month
Fringe Benefits (a) 14 days annual leave and full pay sickness allowance whereas rest days, statutory holidays(or substituted holidays), maternity leave/paternity leave, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance. (b) A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
