Assistant General Manager – Risk Management

The Role:

  • Report directly to the General Manager – Corporate Audit & Risk Management, and lead a seven-person team (including managers and senior consultants) in Group Risk Management function to provide centralised overall coordination of the risk management processes in HK and China
  • Be responsible for the Enterprise Risk Management system (“ERM”) of the whole Group, which includes formulating risk management strategies adhering to the latest regulatory requirement and company objectives,  innovating risk management techniques to improve existing procedure, integrating live incident reporting, group risk registers, operational and project risks, and human resources
  • Liaise with different stakeholders of group business units (regardless of geographical location) on risk assessment, identification and mitigation as well as regular update of the risk dashboards
  • Assure proper implementation of all risk management policies and guidelines
  • Responsible for risk-based audit and risk reviews
  • Develop and prepare regular reports of significant risks and other documents to senior management and Board Audit & Risk Committee
  • Provide advice to all group units on the company’s new initiatives and existing operations from a risk and control perspective
  • Monitor and evaluate risks as well as act as an gatekeeper in merger & acquisition projects
  • Provide training and technical advice to management and employees regarding risk management strategies and programs
  • Handle ad-hoc tasks of department

The Person:

  • University degree preferably in risk management, finance, accounting or related discipline, with professional qualification (e,g, CPA, CIA, CISA, CRMA or CFE etc.) is a plus
  • Minimum 15 years of risk management and relevant experience preferably gained from sizable corporations with at least 10 years’ experience at managerial level
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks and relevant local/ global regulatory requirements, and knowledge of fraud is an added advantage
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, problem solving and presentation skills
  • Strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese, fluency in Putonghua is required
  • PRC experience is preferred and occasional travel to PRC is required
