Executive Assistant / Administrative Assistant (Ref. 220811012-IE)


The appointee will be required to:

(a)    provide administrative support to committees, academic programmes, ad hoc working groups and research-related activities in the Department;

(b)    assist in organising departmental activities, conferences and seminars;

(c)    coordinate visits of distinguished speakers and academic visitors;

(d)    assist in compiling departmental reports and publications;

(e)    liaise with other departments as well as external organisations; and

(f)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department or his delegates.

The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours occasionally.


Applicants for the Executive Assistant post should have a recognised degree and preferably with at least one year of work experience.

Applicants for the Administrative Assistant post should have five passes in HKCEE including English Language (at least Grade C if syllabus A; Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards), Chinese Language (Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards) and Mathematics; or a combination of results in five HKDSE subjects of Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects / "Attained" in Applied Learning subjects / Grade E in Other Language subjects, and the five subjects must include English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics.

For both posts, applicants should also:

(a)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage;

(b)    have good computer literacy;

(c)    have good team work, communication and interpersonal skills; and

(d)    be able to work independently and proactively.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
