School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE)

The School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE) is a self-financed arm of the Vocational Training Council (VTC). It offers top-up bachelor degree programmes to VTC’s Higher Diploma graduates and other sub-degree holders in collaboration with overseas universities.  Applications are now invited for Term Officer post at SHAPE.
 
Major Duties:
(a)  To perform administrative duties in respect of the following areas:
      (i)  human resources management;
      (ii)  student admission and course related administration;
      (iii)  academic support and quality assurance;
      (iv)  marketing and publicity;
      (v)  finance and supplies matters; and
      (vi)  general administration and facilities management
(b)  To provide support in development, execution, organisation, coordination and promotion for strategies, events, projects and activities of the School;
(c)  To supervise and coordinate the work of clerical and supporting staff to ensure the smooth operation and administration of the collaborative degree programmes;
(d)  To assist in the formulation, implementation and review of operational policies, systems and procedures;
(e)  To undertake committee work in various committees, boards and meetings;
(f)  To help implement the quality policy of the operational unit.
      
Requirements:
(a)  A recognised degree or equivalent;
(b)  At least 2 years’ relevant work experience in educational institutions or comparable organisations;
(c)  Good understanding of the Council’s operation and various administration systems;
(d)  Good communication, interpersonal, organisation and administrative skills;
(e)  Good problem solving, time management and team building skills;
(f)  Self-initiative, detail-minded, willingness to meet challenges and the ability to handle a variety of assignments with minimal supervision; and
(g)  A high level of written and spoken language proficiency in both Chinese and English.
      
Notes:
(1)  Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment in both English and Chinese.
(2)  The appointee(s) may be required to work on irregular hours and perform duties on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.
