As a statutory body, we exist within Hong Kong education system to ensure the skills of the Hong Kong workforce remain fresh and future ready. Our mandate to provide VPET is vital in meeting industry needs, and in fulfilling the aspirations of the quarter of a million young people and in-service workers who attend a programme every year at one of our 13 member institutions. Senior Lecturer (Pharmacy)

Major Duties:
(a)  To assist in overseeing the daily operations of the operational unit and ensure effective management of resources of the operational unit;
(b)  To act as Programme Leader and serve in Programme Board(s), Boards of Examiners and other academic / management committees and work groups as required;
(c)  To assist the Academic Director and the Head of Department in the academic development and management of the programme strategic development;
(d)  To assist Senior Management in programme design / accreditation and validation / fieldwork placement / resources management and implementation on the relevant quality assurance policy and maintain the standard and quality of the training programmes;
(e)  To explore new opportunities for the discipline / operational unit, such as developing consultancy, corporate training programmes or top-up degree programmes and assist in the development of new services and programmes to meet the needs of the industry;
(f)  To build close network with the industries, professional bodies, HKSAR Government, Non-profit Organisations (NGOs) and strategic partners both locally, in the Mainland especially in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and overseas to facilitate smooth operations and promote programmes and activities;
(g)  To work closely with all stakeholders, both internal and external, for the betterment of Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET); and
(h)  To perform teaching duties and supervise student projects where necessary.
(a)  A recognised degree in Pharmacy / Chinese Medicine / Pharmaceutical Science, preferably with a post-graduate qualification or relevant professional qualification;
(b)  At least 5 years’ relevant experience at an appropriate level of responsibility;
(c)  Good record of academic or industry leadership in sizeable institution/ conglomerate in the field of Pharmacy / Chinese Medicine / Pharmaceutical Science;
(d)  Good experience in carrying out large scale projects / funding work with a wide range of stakeholders;
(e)  Good understanding of the vision and mission of the Council and the future development of VPET;
(f)  Solid experience in programme design and development, implementation of quality assurance policy, assessment and reporting, student admission, or the work areas relevant to the post;
(g)  Proactive attitude, strong initiative, ability to work independently and effectively in teams and under pressure; and
(h)  Good presentation skills and a high level of proficiency in both English and Chinese, including Putonghua.
(1)  Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
(2)  Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a written assessment.
(3)  The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or outside campus.
