Specialisms:
(I) WorldSkills Competition - Aircraft Maintenance
(II) WorldSkills Competition - Rail Vehicle Technology
Major Duties:
(a) To perform teaching duties and assist in supervision of student projects and fieldwork placement;
(b) To assist in carrying out duties in relation to student and academic administration;
(c) To assist in the recruitment and coaching of competitors for the WorldSkills Competition and other related competitions in the trade area of Aircraft Maintenance/Rail Vehicle Technology;
(d) To provide advice and support for professional skills related to the trade area;
(e) To assist in developing programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials;
(f) To participate in departmental projects and functions, including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions; and
(g) To oversee operation of projects assigned by the Head of Operational Unit and the Engineering Discipline.
Requirements:
(a) A recognised degree in Electronic Engineering / Avionics / Aeronautical / Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent professional qualification, preferably with a post-graduate qualification;
(b) Well-versed in two or more of the following specific skills:
(i) Electronics Components Connection;
(ii) Sheetmetal / Composite Material Repair;
(iii) Mechanical Parts Removal and Installation;
(iv) 3D printing;
(v) Mechanical Design;
(c) For the Specialism (I), a holder of Aircraft Maintenance License in B1.1 is preferred and possession of relevant work experience in Aircraft Engineering would be an advantage; and
(d) Good communication, presentation and facilitation skills in both English and Chinese.
Notes:
(1) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
(2) Shortlisted candidates may be required to attend a written assessment.
(3) The work location is in IVE (Tsing Yi).
(4) The post is time-limited in nature, up to 31 October 2026, and the continued need for the post is subject to review.
