Mainland and International Affairs Office

Mainland and International Affairs Office (MIAO) is responsible to establish and enhance collaborations between VTC and Mainland and International Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) programme providers and industries, through planning and executing marketing / development activities in the Mainland and overseas to build a diversified talent pool and unleash the strength and potential of Hong Kong youths for career aspirations in different industries.
Major Duties:
(a) To execute the Mainland development strategy through various initiatives with the key partner including dual award collaborative programmes, trade-specific industrial attachment, staff and / or student exchanges, VPET events, conferences, forums, consultancy services;
(b) To work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including staff, students, government bureaux, agencies, education institutions, industrial partners, both local and Mainland on matters relating to planning, business development and implementation of events / projects, industrial attachments, delegation visits and admissions of Mainland students;
(c) To plan, formulate and monitor the activities, projects and / or events which align with the Council's Mainland development strategy and operational needs of the MIAO with an aim to enhancing the exposure of the Council in Mainland;
(d) To monitor and evaluate the performance of partnership, business development, international students admission, and digital initiatives, using data-driven insights to inform future strategies and decision-making;
(e) To update VPET relevant new strategy / policies / rules and regulations / scheme / development opportunities; and
(f) To provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and professional growth.
Requirements:
(a) A recognised degree in a relevant discipline or relevant professional qualification, preferably with a post-graduate qualification;
(b) At least 7 years’ relevant experience at an appropriate level of responsibility in business promotion / marketing, planning or business development in Mainland, ideally in academic sector, statutory organisations or multinational companies with similar complexity;
(c) Demonstrated success at managing a business or service in Mainland and / or developing successful collaboration with industry preferably in the VPET / higher education sector would be an added advantage;
(d) Good networking capability for organisational development in Mainland and be able to establish linkages and forge strategic working relationships with Mainland companies, statutory organisations, local government authorities, etc;
(e) Good understanding of the vision and mission of the Council and the development of VPET;
(f) Good interpersonal and team-building skills with entrepreneur flair; and
(g) Excellent communication skills, good presentation skills and a high level of proficiency in both English and Putonghua.
Notes:
(1)Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
(2)Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a written assessment.
(3)The appointee(s) will be required to travel to Mainland and / or overseas with short periods of stay.
