Smart City Innovation Centre & STEAM Education Centre

Major Duties:
(a) To perform teaching duties including supervision of students’ projects and fieldwork placement;
(b) To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration;
(c) To develop learning and teaching materials on various technologies relevant to Smart City development for students and teachers;
(d) To organise, coordinate and deliver events such as Industry Seminar, STEAM Workshop and exhibition for Smart City Innovation Centre and STEAM Education Centres;
(e) To be responsible for showcase and project development with various tools and technologies, including networking and exploring collaboration opportunities with industry and community partners; eliciting and managing user requirements from stakeholders and transforming functional features into technical specifications and solutions with implementation plans; and liaising with vendors on technical specifications and tender procurements, and evaluation of related projects; and
(f) To supervise technical staff.
Requirements:
(a) A recognised degree or equivalent in Engineering, Information Technology, Multimedia or related field, preferably with a post graduate qualification;
(b) At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and/or industry experience, preferably in event coordination, STEAM curriculum design and development or Smart City project development;
(c) Mature, independent, dynamic, creative, self-motivated, be a good team player and able to work under pressure on tight schedule; and
(d) Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese.
Notes:
(1) The post is at the rank of Lecturer.
(2) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
(3) Shortlisted candidates may be required to attend a written assessment.
(4) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties at different sites and/or outside office hours.
(5) The post is time-limited in nature, up to 31 August 2027 initially, and the continued need for the post is subject to review.
(6) In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
