In order to manage the development and its integrated revenue growth across China Daily media products, we are now looking for qualified candidates in Hong Kong to fill the following position:
Business Reporter
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for both the newspaper and the website of the Company including report and write articles on financial news / feature, GBA FOCUS, GBA Newsletter etc.
- Responsible for multiple platforms to collect, analyze and present news events through interview and investigation
- Follow China Daily editorial style and formatting guidelines to supply and review copies and correct errors in content
- Line up interviews, research and analyze background information to provide a complete, accurate account of news events
- Pitch story ideas to editors, keep the desk updated of progress
- Work on special projects and other assignments as required
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree or above in Journalism or media communication or related disciplines from a reputable university.
- At least 2 years’ experience in news media preferably English news media
- Familiar with public affairs and economy of Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland
- Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrable track record of enterprise journalism, who are able to distill research into well-framed stories with strong compelling leads
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese
- Good command of reporting and writing skills with strong news sense and able to turn stories around quickly
- Detail-minded with high sense of responsibility, able to work independently and under pressure
- Outgoing personality, energetic, with good interpersonal skills
