Part-time Research Assistant II (R6648) (S&T) (Ref: 24001QF)

We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Science and Technology:

Part-time Research Assistant II (R6648) (S&T) (Ref: 24001QF)

Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will mainly assist the research team in a research project “Unsupervised Point Cloud Registration via Geometric Local-to-Global Transformer and Self Augmentation” (R6648). He / She will be responsible mainly for the following:

Conducting research tasks about unsupervised point cloud registration;
Investigating representation learning, geometric transformer and self-augmentation strategy;
Preparing project reports and other related documents;
Conducting related experiments and analyzing the results; and
Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

A Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science and Engineering or a related discipline;
Related research experience in point cloud processing will be preferred;
Strong programming ability in C++, Python and MATLAB;
Good writing skills in research articles; and
Self-motivated, strong learning capability and fluent in English.

Terms and Conditions for Appointment
Successful candidate will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.

Duration of Appointment
This position will be for a six-month period, commencing in October 2024 till April 2025.
