The Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions Office (URAO) of HKUST is seeking an Assistant Officer (Marketing and Event) to create branding materials and maintain a robust presence for the university’s undergraduate admissions. The role involves implementing marketing strategies through URAO’s social media channels, such as Facebook, Instagram, WeChat, and XiaoHongShu. The appointee will produce original content and propose relevant promotional methods to boost brand awareness and stakeholder engagement. Strong writing skills and an understanding of marketing technologies and social media trends are essential.
Major Responsibilities:
- Conducting interviews with students and professors and drafting promotional content;
- Design and creating engaging text, image, and video content to keep stakeholders engaged;
- Coordinating and supporting events planning and logistics;
- Collaborating with external writers, designers, and vendors on marketing and branding initiatives;
- Keeping the social media schedule and reports on the performance of URAO’s social media channels regularly;
- Performing additional duties as assigned, including supporting events and activities.
Applicants must hold a degree in Design, Marketing, Linguistics, New Media, or related fields, with at least 1 year of experience in content creation, marketing, or branding.
The ideal candidate should bring hands-on experience with different social media platforms, possess current knowledge of the latest digital marketing technologies and trends specific to Hong Kong and Mainland China, and be skilled in creating captivating content that includes text, images, and videos.
The appointee should be self-driven, detail-oriented, and have a collaborative attitude. They must exhibit excellent communication, multitasking, and analytical abilities, along with proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, graphic design applications, and photo/video editing tools is essential. Experience with Adobe CC software is a plus.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a written test and design test, and interview. (Duration: 1 year)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical benefits will be provided.
