Duties
The appointee will be a member of a software solutions development team and be required to:
(a) manage and maintain servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure components of application system platforms with system configuration, patch management, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and security;
(b) monitor system performance, conduct routine maintenance, and troubleshoot issues related to application system platforms to prevent downtime and enhance reliability;
(c) implement and maintain security measures that comply with the University’s security policies to protect systems and data from vulnerabilities and threats;
(d) create and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures and troubleshooting guides;
(e) perform after-office-hour standby support tasks on a roster basis as required, including working overtime and undertaking overnight duties to handle scheduled work, incidents or ad-hoc tasks; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Office or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree OR a higher diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline with three years of relevant work experience;
(b) have knowledge of and experience in Linux, Windows Server administration and Web Server administration;
(c) preferably have experience in and familiarity with OpenText, K2 and/or Sitecore platforms;
(d) have strong analytical skills, along with good interpersonal and communication skills; and
(e) be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
Applicants with less experience will be considered for the post of Assistant Specialist. Fresh graduate will also be considered.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
