Major Duties :

(a)To assist Deputy Director in the strategic planning and management for building repair & maintenance (R&M), alterations, additions & improvement (AA&I) and new capital works projects;
(b)To manage and oversee the operations of different sections;
(c)To assist the formulation of policies, strategies and enhancement measures for project management;
(d)To plan and manage the new campus development to meet the VTC Strategic Plan and Master Plan for VTC Campuses;
(e)To formulate strategies for consultancy services and works contracts including packaging, procurement and management controls;
(f)To engage and manage external consultants and contractors;
(g)To develop smart and green strategies for building design of VTC campuses and premises;
(h)To liaise with relevant Government Bureaux / Departments in obtaining funding approval; and
(i)To prepare papers and reports for management review.

Requirements :

(a)A recognised degree or equivalent in Civil or Structural Engineering;
(b)A corporate membership of the relevant professional institution and a registered professional in Hong Kong;
(c)At least 10 years’ relevant experience at managerial level, preferably on the clients’ side or representing the clients’ side such as government / public organisations / tertiary institutions / consultants;
(d)Good knowledge of both building and building services works;
(e)Good understanding and experience in the administration of accommodation requirements / space utilisation for higher educational institution;
(f)Highly desirable with work experience at senior level for project management of Government capital works or subvention building projects;
(g)Strong capability in strategic thinking, leadership, time management and forward planning with exceptional ability to drive and manage changes; and
(h)Good understanding and experience in the implementation of latest trend and best practices in construction industry.

Notes :

(1)The post is at the rank of “Senior Manager”.
(2)Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
