Job Responsibilities:

People Management 

• Lead, mentor and grow a team of software engineers to support both internal and external customers.
• Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Enforce compliance of policies and procedures.
• Support career development for team members.

Project Management

• Lead technical development for Octopus back-end systems, conduct feasibility study, evaluation and prototype development as required.
• Liaise with relevant parties on user requirements, UAT testing, implementation and deployment.
• Negotiate and manage customers and business partners.
• Develop quality project management documentation including but not limited to project plans, test strategies, quality plans, project master schedules, project reporting, etc.
• Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
• Promote best practices in coding standards, testing, CI/CD, and DevOps.

Emergency Support

• Coordinate various parties and support teams to provide timely and professional emergency support to the Octopus solutions, including the large-scale mission critical Octopus Clearing House System (OCHS) that handles Octopus card production, refund, settlement, blacklist and auto-reload services.

Knowledge Management

• Knowledge sharing within the organisation to retain knowledge to enhance quality, profitability and market share.

Job Requirements:

• University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certified preferred
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in system development, project management and IT operations, with 5+ years in a leadership role. Experience in payment, settlement and reconciliation solutions is preferred
• Track records in large-scale system design
• Familiarity with security best practices and DevOps practices
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools
• Experience in Oracle, Web service, MQ, AWS and MS Azure. Strong background in Java, Spring framework, etc.
• Strong communication skills in both verbal and written English
• Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work under pressure and self-motivated.
• Excellent problem solving and stakeholder management skills
