PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
The Training Manager (TM) will be responsible, in coordination with Human Resources Director (HRD), Retail Operations Director (ROD) and Managing Director (MD), for the highest performance and results achievement of our talents, both in retail stores and back office, through training, motivation, company culture compliance and know-how sharing.
MD, ROD and Heads of Department will set the business goals and strategic plan; then the TM, coordinated with HRD, will help to identify the training needs and set up the training calendar, programs, contents and tools to fulfill the gaps.
TM will work very closely with ROD to ensure that the training goals are effectively being implemented in the daily operations as planned. TM will also cooperate with Retail Operations department to ensure Brand trainings for staff are conducted.
TM will be responsible, with HRD, for the training budget and calendar.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Training Development
- Develop training program for Shilla, i.e. Company Induction, Leadership/Coaching, Train-the-trainer, Time management, Health & Safety, Information Security, basic to advance level Customer Services and selling skills training for operational staff and corporate staff
- Work closely with (Beauty / Fashion) brands to ensure an efficient and productive product training.
- Update and develop training presentation materials and contents.
- Develop and localize corporate training.
- Develop employee engagement activities, best practice sharing among stores, act as a role model for team members and build up the positive team attitude towards Shilla’s culture
Training Delivery
- Provide all Beauty/Fashion Advisors and operational teams with the necessary and practical service / selling skills and product knowledge (and refresher training) to drive retail sales productivity, and work very close to Ops Director during the follow up of the implementation.
- Conduct training and maintain the training delivery standards.
- Add-in customer complaints into the customer services training effectively.
Training Needs Analysis/Training Evaluations/Service Audit/Mystery Shopping Program
- Work very close to MD, ROD and Heads of Department to identify training needs and\or gaps to achieve company strategic business plan.
- Regularly conduct store visits to check and audit the operation process and service level after training
- Plan and organize skills development programs to support recruitment, development, coaching and retention of office and retail staff
- Monitor and track the progress of staff in the relevant areas trained and evaluate effectiveness of training
- Build up training system/database, and work out on master training plan
- Collect and consolidate the training results/feedbacks for follow up action plans
- Support ROD to achieve the highest Customer Service standards on the stores, as per Shilla culture and vision.
- Responsible for the regular performance evaluations in customer services, grooming and selling skills with RO and CS team
- Lead the service audit and mystery shopper program
Training Budget, Schedule plan and Administration
- Understand and work closely with HQ on yearly training plan and execution
- Plan, maintain and manage training budgets effectively to facilitate training execution
- Manage and plan monthly training calendar
- Prepare weekly report on training updates
- Vet all training subsidy/grant applications and course sponsorship
KEY REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES
- Degree in Business administration or equivalent, preferably with Train the Trainer certification;
- Minimum 10 years' professional training experience in retail industry with good understanding of beauty and fashion business;
- Solid experience in soft skill training and corporate training is an essential;
- Open-minded, Outgoing, detail conscious, creative and a team leader;
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and dynamic work environment;
- Good interpersonal & communication skills;
- Business oriented and ability to integrate training to work processes;
- Experience in designing and delivering training courses;
- Strong written and oral English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
- Fluent in Korean is an advantage
