[to be appointed at the substantive level of Analyst]

Duties 

The appointee will be a member of the Administrative Application Services Section, which is responsible for developing, enhancing and supporting the University’s administrative systems including student-related, staff-related and finance-related applications.  The appointee will be required to:

(a)  develop, test, and maintain responsive web applications using modern front-end technologies;

(b)  work with development team in the development, maintenance and enhancement work of existing systems;

(c)  communicate with business users on requirement gathering and perform business needs analysis;

(d)  collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate wireframes and mockups into interactive user interfaces;

(e)  collaborate with back-end developers to integrate APIs and data with front-end applications;

(f)   produce and maintain system documentation; and

(g)  perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or his delegates.

Qualifications 

Applicants should: 

(a)  have a recognised degree OR higher diploma/diploma in Computer Science or a related discipline;

(b)  preferably have at least one year’s programming experience for degree holders and three years’ relevant working experience for higher diploma or diploma holders;

(c)  have knowledge of/experience in Node.js, React, Express.js, Restful API, GitLab, Typescript, Tailwind CSS and MySQL, MSSQL or Oracle PL/SQL;

(d)  preferably have knowledge of/experience in frontend JavaScript library/framework (e.g. React.js);

(e)  demonstrate the knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JQuery, JavaScript;

(f)   have strong analytical skills, good interpersonal and communication skills;

(g)  be able to work independently with minimal supervision; and

(h)  have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.

Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
