Our client is a well-known asset manager with presence in HK and the Asia region.  An opportunity has arisen for a proactive Finance & Accounting Professional to support their daily operations.

Job Summary:

• Oversee accounting operations and supervise staff in daily activities, month-end closings, financial reporting, tax planning, tax compliance, and internal controls

• Compile consolidated financial reports to meet head office requirements in a timely manner

• Prepare and accurately review banking returns for submission to the HKMA

• Ensure proper input of transactions into the General Ledger, review and approve journal entries, and carry out month-end postings in the accounting system

• Maintain the chart of accounts, financial report mapping codes, and voucher patterns in the accounting system to ensure all company transactions are accurately recorded, including interest accruals, accrued expenses, provisions, and cost allocations

• Monitor investment performance and review the financial impact of each investment in accordance with HKGAAP and USGAAP

• Coordinate year-end audits and internal audits

• Review and update the accounting policies and procedures manual

• Supervise and evaluate subordinate performance, providing on-the-job training to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards

• Support and participate in various ad hoc assignments or projects as required

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

• Qualified member of HKICPA or an equivalent leading professional accounting body

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting/audit experience in a financial institution or Big 4 audit experience in banking, including at least 2 years in a managerial role

• Familiarity with HKMA regulations and a commitment to staying updated on the latest regulatory and industry developments

• Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

• Knowledge of USGAAP and HKGAAP

• Strong command of English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)

• Experience with SUN system, Visual Basic, and Visual Report Writer is a plus

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Flexible with high integrity and pro-active, good team-player, self-starter and meticulous
