(Deputy) Custody Manager, Tax Operations

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the custody tax operation including Relief at Source and Tax reclaim.
  • Connect with sub-custodian networks and local tax authority in dealing with tax related issue(s).
  • Manage and coordinate tax audits.
  • Prepare tax documents in regular basis according to the requirements of different markets, and handle all information data requests.
  • Cooperate with Tax Product team to complete annual US source income reporting to IRS.
  • Work with Product team to enhance BOCHK’s capability on custody tax operations.
  • Assist in system development and perform UAT.

Requirements:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience with custody business.
  • Overall understanding and knowledge about various markets and investment instruments (like equities and fixed incomes etc.) as well as their related operating modes, clearing and settlement procedures, law and regulations, commonly-used SWIFT formats etc.
  • Familiar with various markets tax documents requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and co-ordination skills to work with the team.
  • Independent in thinking, arrange work and dealing with business partners or service providers; flexibility and client focus in rendering client-fronting services.
  • Meticulous with details; diligent and efficient in follow-through.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure arisen from workload and time constraints.
