The Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) is a dedicated museum that showcases the exquisite artefacts from Palace Museum’s collections and collaborates with other museums in research, exhibitions, education and public programmes. The museum comprises 7 800 square metres of gallery space for standing and special exhibitions on Palace Museum’s collections of paintings, calligraphy, antiquities and historical objects, as well as thematic displays on world cultures and civilisations.
The HKPM is seeking Officer, Digital Development to join the Museum’s Digital Development team. Reporting to the Manager, Digital Development, the job holder is responsible for executing online and digital initiatives of the Museum and working closely with internal and external partners in implementing the optimal digital solutions to enhance visitor experience. The job holder shall execute the digital strategy for the Museum and manage different digital channels including but not limited to website, digital display system, on-site interactive/ multimedia programme (such as VR and AR experiences), digital marketing tools, Wechat mini programme and the development of rich media content to support all online activity including visual, video and audio content. The aim of the Team is to expand HKPM’s digital presence and develop relationship with its audience, broaden its audience base and enhance visitor experience through innovative digital initiatives.
The job holder shall also be responsible to assist the Manager for reviewing the data captured from different digital platforms such as Website, interactive platform and Wechat mini programme to understand customer behaviour, handle the development of personalised visitor experience for different audiences across different channels and enhancement on system functionalities with relevant Department and consultants.
You will be responsible for:
supporting the Manager in executing digital strategy of the Museum to deliver a seamless user and visitor experience;
supporting the implementation of a range of digital products from user requirements collection through to UAT, testing, launch, optimisation and iterative development of new features;
working with relevant parties to ensure all information in all digital communication tools is up-to-date, be consistent with relevant guidelines and brand image;
consolidating the big data from different digital platforms and working with supervisor in translating the data to initiatives for promoting HKPM events, activities and news;
coordinating with various parties for the production of rich media content including graphic, video and audio;
assisting the team to expand HKPM’s digital presence and connecting with its audience, broadening its audience base and enhancing visitor experience through innovative digital initiatives;
assisting CRM system integration with digital platform such as website and assist in coordinating with other departments on different usages to make sure the data is relevant, accurate and up-to-date;
assisting in enhancing WeChat mini program, onsite interactive and multimedia programme;
assisting in Museum’s AI technology and implementation project
working with internal technical team and IT support partner on issues around hosting/technical infrastructure; and
performing any duties from time to time as reasonably as assigned by HKPM.
You should:
possess a recognised university degree or equivalent in any disciplines;
possess at least 2 years of relevant experience in managing digital strategy, preferably in a cultural or entertainment/leisure based industry;
have experience and understanding of Customer Relationship Management System and Content Management System;
demonstrate skills and experience in implementing digital platforms including but not limited to website, interactive & multimedia programme, social media tools and online campaigns;
possess design experience and working knowledge of design software, e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign;
possess working knowledge of HTML, CSS and XML is preferable;
have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders and collaborators in executing digital campaigns;
possess project management skills, preferably in digital projects / system development from ground;
have experience of supporting the implementation of digital marketing and communications strategies;
have awareness on emerging digital communication technologies; and
possess proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese; knowledge of Putonghua is an advantage.
