As we expand our academic leadership team, we seek a dedicated and strategic Deputy Head of Department to support the Head of Department in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of our programs and teaching team.
Duties:
Support the Head of Department in devising and enacting departmental strategies, plans, and measures
Oversee academic staff management, including resource allocation, recruitment, performance evaluation, and professional development to support a collaborative environment and elevate teaching standards
Participate in leading programme development, management, and continuous improvement that aligns with institutional goals, fostering innovative and accessible academic offerings
Maintain and advance academic development across teams and disciplines, including curriculum enhancement, student development, and quality assurance
Drive and enhance stakeholder engagement with students, teachers, industry partners, and external agencies
Requirements:
Master’s degree or above in relevant disciplines from a recognized institution
At least 8 years of relevant experience. Proven track record in academic leadership with strong communication abilities to drive team performance and stakeholder engagement, within self-financing higher education or vocational settings
Strong expertise in business operations and management to optimize departmental efficiency and resource allocation
Solid experience in programme design, development, accreditation and QA processes, and academic policy implementation
Excellency in strategic planning and problem-solving to navigate higher education challenges effectively
Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese, and MS Office applications
Candidates with less experience will be considered as Associate Head
