Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients before, during and immediate after surgery, address to their needs, alleviate their concerns and obtain a high level of customer satisfaction

• Gather all supplies and needs for the operation and assume duties within or out of the sterile field as assigned

• Assume responsibility of keeping the operation room sterilized and upkeep the standard of perioperative nursing care

• Assist the anaesthetist and surgeons in anaesthesia and operative procedures as assigned

• Provide quality nursing care to patient and support Advanced Practice Nurse and other healthcare professionals in clinical unit(s) to ensure smooth operations of clinical services and safe care to patients

• Work according to operational guidelines and work instructions for clinical procedures; proper handling of medications and safe use of medical equipment, etc.

• Prepare training materials for new comers and health education pamphlets for patients and visitors

• Keep good and accurate documentation related to patient care processes and unit(s) operations; such as consumable store and inventory records

• Participate in quality improvement activities and monitor infection control practices in the unit(s)

• Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and to supervise clerical and supporting staff to ensure client comfort in all processes

• Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor(s) from time to time

Job Requirements

• Holder of a Diploma in Nursing or above

• Holder of a valid Registered Nurse Practising Certificate issued by The Nursing Council of Hong Kong

• Work experience in perioperative nursing is preferred

• Relevant specialty training in perioperative setting is preferred

• Holder of valid certificates in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Paediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) is preferred

• Good interpersonal and communication skills

• Demonstrable personal commitment in providing safe and quality patient care services

• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese

• Knowledge in MS Office applications

Compensation and Employment Terms

Appointment will be made on a 3-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
