Shrewsbury International School Hong Kong opened in 2018. A primary school, we provide almost 1,000 places for children aged between 3 and 13 years old.

Key Responsibilities:
The Teaching Assistant (English Additional Language) will:
● Show a passion for supporting the holistic and language development of young people;
● Report to and act in direct support of the English Language Specialist Teacher;
● Support the planning, preparation and delivery of English Language targeted interventions and learning experiences;
● Support the coordination and monitoring of progress and attainment of EAL learners;
● Deliver a range of intervention strategies to raise levels of achievement in targeted groups of EAL learners;
● Attend meetings and development sessions, as required;
● Provide administrative support;
● Monitor and manage the communal behaviour of students during break and lunch times;
● Be available on campus within term time between the hours of 07:30 and 15:30;
Professional Expectations:
The Teaching Assistant (English Additional Language) will:
● Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
● Be conscientious, efficient and organised;
● Be keen to learn;
● Demonstrate a good level of spoken and written English;
● Chinese language skills would be advantageous.
