Propose of this role:
This role is responsible for Shiseido Hong Kong's legal and compliance initiatives, including resolve of daily legal and compliance matters of all departments as well as providing stakeholders and management with effective advice on risk management, company strategies, and their implementation from legal perspective.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide timely and business oriented legal and compliance advice and support in relation to the company’s businesses and operations

• Draft, review and negotiate business contracts and legal documents (including distributorship agreements, vendor agreements, leases, privacy policies, banking and treasury contracts); liaise with business partners, internal stakeholders and external parties to ensure legal and commercial terms properly incorporated to safeguard company interests and mitigate risks

• Contract management - provide regular updates on key business contracts, including management of contract summaries and monitor contract renewal status

• Review business documents and related materials to ensure compliance of relevant laws and regulations

• Draft, review, update and implement internal compliance policies and procedures periodically

• Identify risk areas and potential risks of non-compliance, and make recommendations for remedial measure, improvement and risk mitigation

• Provide updates on legal and legislative requirements that may impact online and offline retail operations, make recommendations and build up standard practice to ensure compliance

• Handle legal cases, investigation from government authorities (e.g. Customs Department, PCPD)

• Conduct legal research, prepare training materials and provide in-house training on rules and regulations to promote compliance awareness in the Company

• Coordinate with other departments on legal and compliance matters

• Manage external counsels and liaise with external professionals and other regulatory bodies

• Handle ad hoc regional projects or other assignments

Job Requirements:

• Sound legal knowledge in commercial practice and familiar with business laws and privacy laws

• License to practice law in Hong Kong S.A.R. or in any common law jurisdiction

• 5 - 8 years PQE with commercial experience in international law firms and/or in-house

• Experience with retail industry will be a plus

• Excellent drafting and communication skills in English and Chinese

• Experience in both corporate and commercial issues, litigation background is welcome

• Attentive to details, with strong business sense, analytical skills, independent thinking and critical mindset

• Ability to work under pressure, multitask and meet tight deadline
