Merchandising & Planning Deputy Director (Beauty)

About the role:

  • Strategic Planning: Formulate, implement, and manage merchandise plans and financial budgets (sales, margin, inventory) to maximize profit

  • Inventory & OTB Management: Oversee inventory levels, stock allocation, assortment and OTB to ensure optimal stock availability, turnover, and cash flow

  • Analysis & Forecasting: Analyze historical sales, market trends, and consumer behavior to generate accurate pre-season and in-season forecasts

  • Assortment & Allocation: Develop and direct the product assortment, replenishment plans, and, for regional roles,, tailor strategies to specific market trends

  • Performance Optimization: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), adjust promotional calendars, and optimize markdowns to meet financial targets

  • Collaboration & Leadership: Partner with buying, marketing, and retail operations teams to align merchandising strategies, while mentoring junior planning staff.

You are the perfect one if you are/have:

  • Experience: Substantial experience (typically 10+ years) in retail planning, buying, or merchandising, with management experience

  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex financial data and market trends

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems, merchandise management systems, and advanced Excel

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Statistics, or related field

  • Communication: Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
