Manager (Building Works)

Pay: HK$71,118 to HK$140,903 [HMPS point 3 to 19] per month including Monthly Allowance
Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities:
The appointee will be responsible for the following main duties:

1. Manage minor works projects/ slope related projects and exercise close control on quality of works, project budget and expenditure.
2. Provide professional support to hospitals on the preparation and development of project proposals, programmes, funds bidding and procurement of works agents on minor works projects/ slope related projects.
3. Oversee and manage compliance of statutory requirements/ordinances, contract specifications, internal guidelines and procedures with respect to facility management and building maintenance in hospitals and clinics.
4. Conduct technical audits and site checks on minor works projects/ slope related projects.
5. Facilitate smooth interface and communication between respective hospitals, government departments, contractors, professional consultants, and other stakeholders.
6. Manage, monitor and report the performance of the professional consultants and/or works agents appointed for the delivery of respective projects.
7. Prepare tender documentations, manage and administer works and consultancy contracts from procurement, project execution to final account settlement.
8. Any other duties as required by the division including job rotation to other posts within and outside the division.

Entry Requirements:

1. Member / Corporate Member of a professional institution, i.e. the Hong Kong Institute of Architects, the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers in Structural Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering or Building Services Engineering disciplines or equivalent.
2. For applicants in the discipline of surveyors, at least 1 year's appropriate post-qualification experience.

Preferable Attributes/Exposure:

1. Considerable experience in handling additions, alterations & improvement and maintenance projects.
2. Considerable experience in handling slope improvement and maintenance works.
3. Conversant with Hong Kong construction and building related legislations and government procedures and policies on delivering public projects.
4. Practical experience in public works projects and/or administration of term contract.
5. Qualification of Construction Industry Council (CIC) Certified BIM Manager (CCBM) or Professional Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Building Information Modelling (MHKIBIM).
6. A Registered Inspector in the Inspectors’ Register kept by the Building Authority.
7. Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Chinese, with good presentation skills.
8. A high degree of self-motivation and strong organizational ability.
9. Knowledge of MS Office, project management and database software.
