General Manager, Strategic Partnerships

The position of General Manager, Strategic Partnerships reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer, Asia and is responsible for driving profitable revenue growth for City Asia through targeted business development activities across Hong Kong and Macau.

Job Responsibilities:

New Business Development

  • Identify and source new business opportunities across all potential partners and sectors.

  • Support and contribute to the planning, development and implementation strategies for City’s engagement approach so that the company is strategically positioned to capture new FM business opportunities.

  • Research & develop strategies and plans which identify marketing opportunities and new business development.

  • Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.

  • Actively conduct outreach activities, including cold calling & networking to maintain a striong pipeline of opportunities.

  • Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.

  • Identify potential clients, and key decision makers within their organization.

  • Research and build relationships with new clients.

  • Set up meetings between client decision makers and company’s practice leaders/Principals.

  • Plan approaches and pitches. Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.

  • Participate in pricing the solution/service.

  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion. Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.

  • Drive customer engagement and promote positive relationships with partners and vendors.


Client Retention

  • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.

  • Work with technical team members and other internal team members to meet customer needs.

  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.


Business Development Planning

  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.

  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.

  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.

  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.

  • Monitor, measure and report on FM industry trends, movements in Hong Kong and Macau.

Management and Research

  • Submit weekly progress updates with full accountability for the accuracy and integrity of all reported data.

  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system or other sales management system.

  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.

  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure that prerequisites, such as prequalification or getting on a vendor list are fulfilled.

  • Ensure all team members represent the company in the best light.

  • Provide business development training and mentoring to business developers and other internal team members.

  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of City’s operational strategies and performance.

  • Research and develop a thorough understanding of the company’s people and capabilities.

  • Understand the company’s goal and purpose so that will continual to enhance the company’s performance.


Requirements:

  • Strong familiarity with the Facilities Management industry is essential.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant sales experience within the FM industry.

  • A bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of sales or marketing experience. An MBA is desirable but not essential.

  • Advanced strategic planning ability, strong customer focus and outstanding communications skills.

  • Ability to prioritise and handle workload, networking, persuasion, prospecting, public speaking, and research.

  • Strong competencies in Writing, Closing Skills, Motivation for Sales, Prospecting Skills, Sales Planning, Identification of Customer Needs and Challenges, Territory Management, Market Knowledge & Meeting Sales Goals.

  • Proficiency in CRM and Microsoft Office.

  • Strong command of English and Cantonese.

  • Proficiency in Mandarin and other local languages or dialects is an advantage.
