[Appointment period: four months]
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) provide daily secretarial support to the Director of PolyU Academy for Interdisciplinary Research;
(b) organise meetings, coordinate events / delegation visits, and handle travel and accommodation arrangements;
(c) assist in preparing reports and presentations;
(d) provide administrative support to research projects;
(e) handle sensitive and confidential matters and information flow in a professional manner;
(f) maintain an effective record keeping and filing system;
(g) liaise and coordinate effectively with the internal and external stakeholders; and
(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree with at least five years’ relevant post-qualification work experience, preferably gained from tertiary institutions;
(b) have strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, communication and interpersonal skills;
(c) be highly self-motivated, able to work independently and handle sensitive matters with alertness and prudence;
(d) be well-organised and highly attentive to details;
(e) have the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
(f) have good computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing; and
(g) have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
