We are now inviting high level candidates to apply for the following position:

Responsibilities

·       Oversee and manage complete packaging development process, from prototype development, checking feasibility & costs with factory and performance testing.

·       Support the Trends & Innovation Manager for packaging in sourcing collections.

·       Launch samples from the Trend and Innovation manager.

·       Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems involving getting initial costs.

·       Analyse engineering drawings/specifications of product to determine physical characteristics of item, special handling, environmental and safety requirements, and types of materials required for packaging.

·       Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

·       Work closely with global suppliers, for sampling, costing, sample reviews.

·       Participate in product development meetings to develop new products

·       Identify and implement cost saving initiatives.

·       Specify and recommend efficiency tools and test methods to develop and validate packaging designs.

·       Develop and implement comprehensive test plans to ensure that packaging exceeds customer specifications.

·       Work closely with a packaging designers and merchandisers to give comments to improve the design to cost save and / or fit the product safely.

·       Comment on the constructions of samples from different teams provided by customers or factory to make improvements or cost save.

·       Based in either Shanghai or Xiamen with frequent travel to the other area.

Necessary Attributes:

·       In depth, technical construction knowledge

·       Knowledge & understanding of costing & how to design into a price point.

·       Creative and product driven, whilst being aware of market pricing & production constraints.

·       Mature, responsible, and independent, with a strong team spirit.

·       Able to communicate with multiple internal & external parties

·       Well organized and detailed minded whilst able to multi-task. 

·       Able to meet strict deadlines in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

·       Fluent in English and mandarin, both written and spoken is a must.
