Job Summary:

The General Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic planning, and operational management of the hostel and related facilities under the Kai Tak Youth Projects. The incumbent will oversee all aspects of operations, financial performance, governance, stakeholder engagement, business development, and organizational effectiveness to ensure the successful delivery of the project's objectives.

Principal Accountabilities: 

Strategic Leadership & Business Management

• Lead the overall operation, management, and strategic development of the Kai Tak Youth Projects and hostel facilities.

• Develop and execute business strategies to achieve organizational goals, sustainability, operational excellence, and service growth.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and establish effective governance, policies, and performance standards.

Operations & Financial Management

• Oversee all hostel and facility operations, including guest services, housekeeping, maintenance, security, and customer experience.

• Assume full accountability for budgeting, forecasting, financial performance, resource allocation, and business continuity planning.

• Monitor operational and financial results to enhance efficiency, revenue generation, and cost effectiveness.

Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership Development

• Build and maintain strong relationships with government departments, NGOs, community organizations, industry partners, educational institutions, and other key stakeholders.

• Represent the organization in external meetings, forums, and public engagements.

• Drive strategic partnerships that support youth development, community engagement, and social impact initiatives.

People Leadership & Organizational Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing management team and workforce.

• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, service excellence, teamwork, and continuous learning.

• Drive talent development, succession planning, employee engagement, and performance management initiatives.

Risk, Compliance & Governance

• Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, contractual, health & safety, environmental, and corporate governance requirements.

• Implement effective risk management, internal control, audit, and compliance frameworks.

• Oversee crisis management, inspections, audits, and reporting obligations.

Person Requirement:
Education

• Bachelor's Degree or above in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Property Management, Tourism Management, or related disciplines.

• Master's Degree (MBA or related discipline) is preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 15 years' relevant management experience, with at least 8 years in senior leadership positions.

• Experience working with government-funded projects, public bodies, statutory organizations, or state-owned / state-run enterprises will be a distinct advantage.

• Proven experience managing hospitality, hostel, hotel, property, youth development, public service, or large-scale operation environments.

• Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, financial oversight, and organizational leadership.

Language Proficiency

• Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
