Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in the identification and evaluation of novel cancer biomarkers for early detection, disease monitoring, prognosis, patient stratification and immunotherapy response prediction

• Develop translational biomarker strategies supporting cancer vaccine and immuno-oncology programs

• Develop, optimize, validate and troubleshoot laboratory-developed tests (LDTs) and diagnostic assays

• Establish and perform molecular, immunological and genomic assays including qPCR/ddPCR, NGS-based assays, ctDNA analysis, flow cytometry, etc

• Support analytical validation studies

• Maintain laboratory documentation, SOPs, training & study records

• Support implementation of Quality management systems suitable for clinical and translational laboratories

• For Senior Medical Technology Scientist candidate, would provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior lab staff

• For candidate with MLT 1, his responsibilities may also include:

- Provide overall scientific and operational oversight of the laboratory

- Ensuring compliance with applicable HK Medical laboratory regulations and accreditation requirements

- Approval of laboratory policies, SOPs and quality systems

- Review and approval of assay validation studies, etc

Requirements:

• Msc or PHD in Biomedical Sciences, Medical Laboratory Science, Molecular Biology, Immunology or related Life Science discipline

• Holder of MLT Part II / MLT Part I

• At least 5 years working experience for MSc candidate and at least 3 yrs for PhD candidate, candidate with more experience and MLT Part I qualification can be considered for the post for Sr Medical Technology Scientist or a higher position

• Experience in molecular diagnostics, cancer Biomarker research or translational medicine

• Hand-on experience with genomic assays with strong experimental design and troubleshooting skills

• Experience with CLIA, CAP, ISO15189, ISO13485 or Equivalent laboratory quality systems is highly preferred

• Experience in developing oncology diagnostic assays and experience in biotechnology or diagnostics start-up environments is highly desirable.
