Christian Alliance International School (CAIS), a non-profit making school wholly owned by Kowloon Tong Church of the Chinese Christian and Missionary Alliance, invites applications for Science Laboratory Technician.
Job duties:
Collaborate with science teachers in planning for effective support for the laboratory component of science courses
Assemble and prepare equipment and materials for teachers and students (e.g. lab experiments)
Brief students on set-up of experiments, demonstrate handling of apparatus and chemicals, supervise and guide students in analysis of experimental data, in high school classes as well as for demonstrations in primary school
Perform ‘trial-run’ tests and demonstrations
Support co-/extra-curricular activities organized by the Science Department such as Robotics Club, coding workshop, Science activities for Discovery Days, etc.
Order, manage and maintain equipment and supplies in the laboratory
Establish and maintain a safe, orderly and ‘user-friendly’ environment in the laboratory
Ensure that chemical waste disposal is carried out in accordance with defined protocols
Any other ad hoc duties as assigned, for example, exam invigilation.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in science or other post-secondary science credential
Strong knowledge of lab procedures and pure sciences
Two years or more experience working in a science laboratory
Holders of Certificate for Laboratory Technicians preferred
Working experience in an international school environment preferred
Successful record of working collaboratively with teachers and colleagues
Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese
Candidate embracing the values of Christian education preferred
