Infrastructure Specialist (Oracle/Linux/JBOSS, 5 days work, over $70K)

Job Duties:

  • To provide technical advice on administration, operation and configuration of equipment including database, servers, storage, and backup facilities, etc.
  • To facilitate upgrade of system software under virtualized environment
  • To perform problem diagnosis and performance tuning on application servers and databases (including DB2, Oracle and MySQL) for facilitation of GCIS capacity management and server configuration management
  • To provide intensive database support including backup, recovery and high-availability configurations in complex database environment
  • To facilitate and provide support for the relocation
  • To assist project manager in monitoring work performance and conduct quality assurance of project deliverables from outsourced contractors
  • To carry out other project related duties as designated by project manager

Job Requirement:

  • Higher Diploma or above in Computer Science or related subjects
  • At least 6 years' experience in IT industry
  • Shall possess solid experience in supporting large-scale IT infrastructure (over 1,000 virtual servers) with dual-active production sites over cross-site network with SAN support for hosting e-services adopting J2EE application infrastructure on Linux systems
  • Shall possess sound technical experience in supporting MySQL, IBM DB2 UDB and Oracle RAC database systems
  • Shall have experience in using virtualization software including VMware 7 or above
  • Preferably have experience in supporting RedHat Linux and RedHat JBOSS application servers
  • Shall have experience in conducting quality assurance on project deliverables
