Laboratory Animal Services Centre
The appointee will be reporting directly to the Laboratory Manager, and will be responsible for (a) performing mouse assisted reproductive technologies, including embryo/sperm cryopreservation, in vitro fertilisation, strain rederivation, microinjection, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, and embryo transfer; (b) maintaining laboratory equipment and performing housekeeping to support facility daily operation; (c) managing laboratory inventory and records; (d) conducting genotyping and colony management; (e) compiling requested documentation; (f) providing technical support to projects and teaching; and (g) performing other tasks as assigned. Training will be provided if needed.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above in Biochemistry, Biotechnology or equivalent; (ii) at least 5 years of hands-on experience in mouse assisted reproductive technologies; (iii) fundamental research background in genetically modified animal models; (iv) strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, and attentiveness to details; and (v) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
Appointment will initially be made on a 1-year contract, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
