The China Daily Hong Kong Edition is recognized by both the newspaper industry and readers for its exceptional journalism and outstanding reporting. China Daily was a frequent winner at the most recent “Hong Kong News Awards” organized by the Newspaper Society of Hong Kong. Since 2010, The Hong Kong Edition has been honored every year at the “Hong Kong News Awards”, winning a current total of 124 awards.

In order to manage the development and its integrated revenue growth across China Daily media products, we are now looking for qualified candidates in Hong Kong to fill the following position:
Business Reporter

Responsibilities:-
• Responsible for both the newspaper and the website of the Company including report and write articles on financial news / feature, GBA FOCUS, GBA Newsletter etc.
• Responsible for multiple platforms to collect, analyze and present news events through interview and investigation
• Follow China Daily editorial style and formatting guidelines to supply and review copies and correct errors in content
• Line up interviews, research and analyze background information to provide a complete, accurate account of news events
• Pitch story ideas to editors, keep the desk updated of progress
• Work on special projects and other assignments as required

Requirements:-
• Bachelor Degree or above in Journalism or media communication or related disciplines from a reputable university.
• At least 2 years’ experience in news media preferably English news media
• Familiar with public affairs and economy of Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland
• Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrable track record of enterprise journalism, who are able to distill research into well-framed stories with strong compelling leads
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese
• Good command of reporting and writing skills with strong news sense and able to turn stories around quickly
• Detail-minded with high sense of responsibility, able to work independently and under pressure
• Outgoing personality, energetic, with good interpersonal skills
