How interesting…… I never thought Money has different names!!!

In temple (寺廟) or church (), it is called donation (捐獻).

In school, it’s fee (學費).

In marriage (結婚), it’s called dowry (/ˈdaʊ(ə)ri/ 嫁妝).

In divorce (離婚), alimony (/ˈælɪmənɪ/ 贍養費).

When you owe someone (欠人錢), it’s debt ( *小心:讀音是/det/‘b’不發音).

When you pay the government, it’s tax ().

In court (法庭), it’s a fine (罰款). .

Civil servant retirees (退休公務員), it’s pension (長俸).

Employer () to workers (工人), it’s salary (/ˈsæləri/ 薪金).

Master (主人) to subordinates (下屬), its wages (/ˈweɪdʒəz/ 工資).

To children, its allowance (əˈlaʊəns/

When you borrow from bank, it’s loan (貸款).

When you offer (主動給予) after a good service, it’s tips (小費).

To kidnappers (架者) , it’s ransom (/ˈrænsəm/ 贖金).

Illegally (不合法地) received (收取) in the name of service, it’s bribe (/braɪb/ 賄款).

The question is, “when a husband gives to his wife, what do we call it???”
