How you will make an impact:
As the lead of Media Relations team in Corporate Communications Department, the job holder is responsible for the development and execution of effective media relations and publicity strategy for building and safeguarding the brand of Chinachem Group, playing an important role in the development of Chinachem’s narrative by delivering timely, relevant and compelling communications materials for both internal and external stakeholders.
Media Relation and Branding
Design and implement high-impact communications and media relations strategies and campaigns to effectively propel Chinachem’s brand and thought leadership
Work collaboratively with business units on proactive and reactive media engagements at Corporate level
Establish and cultivate relationships with media, and stay on top of the latest developments of media landscape in Hong Kong and Mainland China
Take a proactive and creative approach to craft stories and pitch media interviews to communicate the Group’s strategy and innovations, and respond to media inquiries in a timely and accurate manner
Plan and execute media events, including press conferences, briefings, luncheons and tours
Provide report and analysis on media coverage, industry trends and best practices
Identify and evaluate opportunities for awards and media sponsorships, and collaborate with various business units to manage award submissions and media sponsorships
Content Development
Develop key messages, narratives, talking points, speeches, press releases and other corporate literature content to effectively communicate Chinachem's vision, mission and initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
Research stories from across the Group, and develop creative content to enhance public’s understanding of Chinachem’s purpose and values
Crisis Management
Monitor and identify potential issues, including real estate-related stakeholders’ issues, and alert relevant teams at early stage for timely attention and handling
Take lead in providing strategic advice and end-to-end solutions for dealing with media in crisis
Execute issue and crisis management plans to mitigate reputation risks and safeguard the brand of Chinachem Group
Support other ad-hoc assignments when needed
What we are looking for:
University degree in Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, Marketing or relevant qualification
At least 10 years of experience in corporate communications, media relations, public affairs, and at least 2 years of team management experiences
Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
Track record of running creative and successful PR and communications campaigns to achieve business goals and enhance brand visibility
Experience of working in a complex business organisation, real estate or financial industry, and/or agency background is an advantage
Sound knowledge of media landscape and trends, as well as strong network with media in Hong Kong and Mainland China preferred
Ability to influence others with appropriate self-confidence and presence
Team player and self-starter with leadership skills, can-do attitude and collaborative mindset
Solid project management and time management skills
Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadline and pressure
