Established in 1995, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council is a statutory body set up by the Government to support the broad development of the arts in Hong Kong. Its major roles include grant allocation, policy and planning, advocacy, promotion and development, and programme planning.

Officer, Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo (Job ref: O-2523-ADC)

The Hong Kong Arts Development Council ("HKADC") is organising the second edition of Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo (“HKPAX”) and we are now looking for an Officer to provide assistance in handling a wide range of matters related to the organisation of HKPAX. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong interest in the performing arts and a desire to deepen hands-on experience in event coordination and arts administration. The Officer will work closely with a dynamic team to deliver a high-impact international event.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and organising HKPAX including performances, talks and networking events;
  •  Assist in supporting the Local and International Advisory Panels in selection of artists/arts groups for International Showcases and Pitch Session, and other activities;
  • Assist in the liaison with artists, and venues including venue reservation and booking, ticket sale and reservation of tickets for delegates, technical and front of house requirements;
  • Assist in coordinating with third party contractors for matters related to marketing and publicity including brand building, development of HKPAX website, promotion on social media platforms and other channels, preparation of publicity materials, etc.;
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the seniors.

Requirements:

  • University graduate or equivalent, preferably in Arts and Cultural Management, Event Management, Business, Marketing, Communication or related disciplines;
  • At least 2 years of relevant full-time working experience in the field of online and offline marketing or/and arts and culture, including project management experience;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Putonghua);
  • Strong project management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Good interpersonal skill and able to work independently, multi-task and under pressure;
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and Chinese word processing;
  • Knowledge in Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, HTML, Flash or experience in managing and maintaining a website and social media platforms will be an advantage;
  • Previous experience with NGOs and public organisations in organising large-scale arts events , local or international art market / trade fair will be an added value;
  • Friendly and pleasant character, organised, proactive and able to adapt to rapidly changing environment.

Successful candidate will be offered a 20-month contract. Salary offered will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
